Founding Partners

The Arab Network for Literacy and Adult Education was established on the 25th of May 1999, with the invitation and sponsorship of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science, in fulfillment of the principle of “the role of popular efforts in the field of literacy and adult education” included in the Arab Strategy for Literacy issued in 1976, and the culmination of efforts.

Since its foundation in 1968, Arab Network Popular Education/EPEP works with learners for the promotion of qualitative education for humanistic and modern development, as well as for the promotion of democracy, human rights and the reduction of poverty. Its mission is to renew education in the Arab world as a participatory, modern and critical process that allows, through training.

Arab Campaign for Education for All is an independent, non-profit coalition, consisting of networks, coalitions, non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, teachers’ unions, associations and other sectors which are interested in education in the Arab countries. ACEA seeks to unite and mobilize the efforts of civil societies to ensure the accomplishment of the goals of Education for All.

Anhre established in 2009, is a regional network working in the Arab region which promotes the values of citizenship & the culture of human rights, and includes the principle of gender equality, the rights of persons with disabilities and the rights of the most vulnerable groups to discrimination and exclusion through coordination of efforts and capacity-building.

DVV International is the Institute for International Cooperation of the Deutscher Volkshochschul-Verband e.V. (DVV), the German Adult Education Association. DVV represents the interests of the approximately 900 adult education centers (Volkshochschulen) and their state associations, the largest further education providers in Germany.
